Connecting Communities for Water Health: The Impact of Community IPC Program
in Raising Awareness
Water is most essential for life and managing it effectively is vital for the health of individuals,
communities and our planet. Water plays a key role in daily activities such as drinking, maintaining
ecosystem balance, agriculture and industry. However, as the global population grows and climate
change progresses, freshwater resources are becoming more limited. To tackle these issues, our
company, Sunanda Enviromental International Pvt. Ltd, is dedicated to educating communities about
the significance of water conservation and preventing waterborne diseases through our Community
IPC (Information, Education, and Communication) Awareness Program.
At Sunanda Enviromental International Pvt. Ltd, we believe that awareness is the first step towards
creating lasting change. In this IPC program, dissemination of various information related to good
water practices, water conservation, safe handling of water, safe storage of water and water theft was
done through microphones and door to door interpersonal connections. Colorful, Informative &
Interactive leaflets were distributed to facilitate people’s understanding.
Water Conservation: A Responsibility for All
Water is essential for every community. Water conservation is not only important for today, but also
for future generations, so that they can use it. The growing demand for water with the increase of
population and the urbanization of the earth necessitates the wise and judicious use of these resources.
Through our Community IPC Awareness Program, we connect with local communities to teach
practical methods for reducing water consumption, promoting water-efficient practices, and
encouraging responsible water use both at home and in public spaces. We emphasize how individual
actions, like turning off taps while not in use, fixing leaks, and using water-saving appliances, can
collectively contribute to a significant reduction in water usage.
Controlling waterborne diseases: Saving health
Saving water is one perception, whereas clean and safe water have so much to do with the public
health aspects. Water contamination is one of the major reasons for the infection of water-borne
diseases, cholera, typhoid fever etc. These diseases pose a serious health risk especially for
populations that have limited access to clean water and sanitation.
IPC Awareness Program of the Community focuses on educating individuals about the dangers of
waterborne diseases and how to prevent these diseases. We teach purification techniques through
boiling and filtration and also sanitation practices like proper storage and cleanliness of water
containers, washing of hands, and safe disposal of wastes.
Our program aims not only to create awareness about waterborne diseases and water conservation but
also to encourage communities to act as agents of change. By adopting safe water practices,
communities can improve their health and contribute to the development of a sustainable water future.
The community will come together to save water, prevent waterborne diseases and build stronger
households for a healthier, more sustainable future. We believe every drop counts. Together, let’s
safeguard this vital resource.
