The Public Health Engineering Department, Govt. of West Bengal maintains a network of 217 water quality monitoring laboratories spread over the 22 districts in the state. These laboratories are responsible for testing of drinking water samples in their jurisdiction.

Team Sunanda is responsible for assisting the entire water quality management for the Public Health Engineering Department Govt. of West Bengal which includes –

• Quality monitoring – Our highly experienced district level manpower( District Consultants) conducts periodic laboratory inspections to monitor the quality of testing and to ensure that good laboratory practices are strictly followed by the lab personnel, hand holding technical support is provided whenever required to plug the loopholes.
• Departmental Coordination – Our District Consultants (DCs) keep regular active coordination with the district level officials of the Public Health Engineering Department.
• Laboratory Inventory Management – Our District Consultants are responsible for stock management in laboratories and procuring chemicals & glass wares whenever required to maintain smooth functioning of the laboratories.
• Public Awareness Programs – Our District Consultants are regularly involved in ground level awareness campaigns in localities and schools alike to sensitize the masses about – water preservation, water purification and safe sanitary practices.
• Laboratory Instrumentation Management – Sunanda’s highly experienced District Consultants are responsible to support the lab personnel in laboratory instrumentation management and calibrations.
• Cross departmental coordination – Sunanda’s District Consultants working for the Public Health Engineering Department, Govt. of West Bengal are always on the move to interact and coordinate with officials of all other departments responsible for water quality monitoring and bring everyone on the same table for the smooth functioning of the system. Awareness generation and technical knowledge sharing is an integral part of these communications. Periodic interactions are conducted right from the Gram Panchayat up to the State Level.
• Special Site Management – Our experienced District Consultants are also charged with the management of special sites managed by the Public Health Engineering Department, Govt. of West Bengal such as – Water Treatment Plants (WTPs), Arsenic Iron Removal Plants (AIRPs) , Community Purification Plants (CPPs) , Water ATMs & Iron Elimination Plants (IEPs). Comprehensive technical hand holding support is provided to the operators of these special sites.
• Training & hand holding – Our District Consultants conduct periodic refresher trainings to brush up the technical skills of laboratory personnel and other people associated with laboratory work.
